Students need to be enrolled and have good attendance at St. Patrick's Faith Formation classes to be eligible to prepare for the Sacraments. All students are to be attending Mass every week (& Holy Days) with their families.
Students in their second consecutive year of classes are eligible to prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. The minimum age to receive these Sacraments for the first time is 2nd grade.
We use the "spiral method" of sharing the faith- each year builds upon the previous year. It is important that students continue to attend Faith Formation classes and be involved in parish life in the years after receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and
Holy Eucharist so they can properly prepare for Confirmation.
Students celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation when they are ready and when they have completed the required period of study and preparation. 9th Grade is the minimum age to begin the two year period of Confirmation Prep (older students may enroll). Prior to entering Confirmation Prep, they must complete the 2-year Jr. High curriculum (typically done in grades 7 & 8).
*There is no fee for Sacramental Preparation.
